This position is located within Patient Care Services, under the Whole Health Program at VAPORHCS. The incumbent serves the Whole Health Supervisory Health System Specialist (Administrative Director). The Whole Health Program promotes personalized, proactive care, that affirms the importance of the relationship between patients and their healthcare team. The focus of the program is on empowerment to achieve optimal health within the whole person through patient centered care and self-healing.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet specialized experience requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
GS-12 grade level:
- You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Supervisory Health System Specialist. Qualifying specialized experience is defined as progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following:
- Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems;
- Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and
- Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.
- developing program plans, goals, objectives and initiatives and evaluating the effectiveness of programs
- identifying problems and developing solutions
- developing administrative guidelines for the conduct of program operations
- analyzing and interpreting data
- planning, organizing and managing administrative programs related to healthcare
- applying organizational and system-wide strategies for continuous quality improvement
- running and supervising an administrative component of a health care organization/program
- 1 year of leadership experience; Administrative supervision; demonstration of ability to work independently
- Program Management: Managing and overseeing staff who perform health care administrative duties.
- Leadership and Supervision: Leading, supervising, and mentoring a multidisciplinary team and ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team.
- Participation in or management of Whole Health Programs or Integrative Health Initiatives that encompass patient-centered care, wellness promotion and holistic health.
