Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic~ without more than normal supervision. Qualified applicants for this position must have the ability or potential ability to maintain and repair 1) Ship Navigation Equipment and systems including radars, Fathometers, Speed Logs, GPS's, Weather Fax, Navtex, etc; and 2) Ship Communication Systems including Global Marine and Distress Safety System, PBX system, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), etc. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
You must possess a current United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credentials (MMC) with a wiper or higher endorsement, and a (QMED) Qualified Member of the Engine Department with valid Electricians Endorsement within 24 months of entrance on duty.
