Description:

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for for USACE for Real Estate Personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: As Chief, Real Estate Office, Northwestern Division, exercises overall responsibility for directing and managing the MSC real estate program, one of the primary missions of the Corps of Engineers.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying knowledge of real estate principles sufficient to oversee a real estate (RE) program that includes one or more of the following specialized functional areas: Acquisition, Appraisal, Management and Disposal, Planning and Control, Base Closure; 2) Exercising authority, leadership and oversight to ensure work products are in compliance with RE principles, laws, and policy; 3) Applying knowledge of budget administration sufficient to evaluate funding recommendations; and 4) Establishing overall goals and objectives, areas of special interest, and matters of priority with regard to a real estate program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
